Day 9 - Saturday 19th March
Today I did run 3 of week 1 on the C25K program, it was a struggle to get myself out but felt good once I was out. I felt fine running, my 2nd run was uphill!! My calves however really hurt whilst running, I'm not sure if that's down to my shoes or just excess weight I'm expecting my body to carry!!
Day 8 - Friday 18th March
Rode to school today, Elizabeth rode on her own alongside me, she's getting braver.
Good ride back on my own, was enjoyable. Drove the car to collect though as it was raining.

Day 7 - Thursday 17th March
We rode to school again today but just as we got to the train bridge we met some friends so we walked the rest of the way, which I was quite glad about to be honest as I was aching from the previous days ride. The ride up to work was tough today, my legs turned to jelly. But it feels good to do it, I've just got to keep it going now.
Today should have been run 3 of week 1 but after 2 days of cycling I felt I'd be pushing myself too much. So will run tomorrow whilst Elizabeth is at school, will be nice to run to music for a change! Am hoping to cycle again to school tomorrow but it's meant to rain so it may be the car. Elizabeth rode home on her own again tonight so she's slowly getting her confidence. It's such a nice ride home, but we meet all the Hounsdown kids.
so 6 miles of exercise today, some slow riding, some walking and some pushing myself!!
Oh and... day 9 of no chocolate and 2 days of not using the car :o)

Day 6 - Wednesday 16th March
Today I rode to school and then on to work, it was 3 miles in total. Was hard work!! I had to walk a fair few times especially with Elizabeth tagged on and on my own too as it's all uphill to work, and my legs felt like jelly!!
I've started using Endomondo on my BB to track my rides/runs.
On the way back from school Elizabeth rode on her own but she was nervous down the hills and when we met the Hounsdown kids! So the ride home wasn't hard at all, it was lovely being able to ride with her.

Day 5 - Tuesday 15th March
Today was run 2 of week 1, it was hard, again! But I did it and feel good about it. The backs of my ankles/calves were hurting again but I made sure to stretch when I got home. I'm going to look to get my shoes fitted properly, get my gait checked so that I know my feet are looked after. My shoes I have are Nike Dart and they feel comfortable enough but they do tend to rub the back of my ankles. I'm planning on cycling to school/work tomorrow, so I hope I do and that I don't wimp out...again!!
Day 7 of no chocolate for lent... although I'm not religious but it's a good incentive.

Day 4 - 13th March
Today was my 1st run with the 'getrunning' app. It starts with a 5 min walk to warm up then 1 min running and then 1.5 min walking and back to 1 min running and so on. It was hard, harder than I imagined but I did it. My ankles hurt and I could tell it was hard work for my body to run with the weight that I am. The whole walk/run took 29 mins and I covered 2 miles according to runkeeper (app). I did some stretches when I got back especially my calves, I could really feel the stretch and I'm sure that's what has helped today (monday) in that I don't really ache. Tuesday is run 2. I think I'm going to run week 1 twice in order to build up slowly.

Day 3 - Friday 11th March - 1st excercise
Today I cycled to school to drop off Elizabeth and cycled home, the app, runkeeper said it was 3.28 miles there and back!! I did have to get off a fair bit especially on the way as I was towing Elizabeth (that's another goal - to get her cycling on her own alongside me) and up hills!! The ride home was easier.
I then cycled again to collect her, again a fair bit of walking on the way back but I did manage some hills on the way on my own.
